For Clients
Finding Your Therapist
You can browse our providers online and book directly through their profile, or contact our intake team for help finding the right fit. There’s no complicated process — just find someone you feel comfortable with and reach out.
Our website includes detailed profiles for each provider, including their specialties, experience, and therapy approach. Take your time reading through them — there’s no pressure to reach out until you’re ready. If you’re unsure, our intake team can help match you with the best fit.
Your first session will focus on getting to know you — your challenges, goals, and preferences. It’s a safe space to explore what kind of support will work best for you. Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to create a plan moving forward. There’s no right or wrong way to show up.
Yes — browsing providers, creating an account, and reaching out costs you nothing. The cost of therapy sessions is set by each individual provider and agreed directly between you and them.

Providers & Insurance
Payments & Coverage
Most of our providers accept insurance. You can check insurance compatibility on each provider’s profile during booking, or contact us for support navigating payment options. We also have an insurance finder tool to help you understand what your plan may cover.
Every provider on TheraConnect is a qualified mental health professional. Our network includes licensed therapists and counselors, psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs), psychiatrists, and mental health coaches. All providers are verified before their listing goes live.
Insurance & Coverage
What You Need to Know
Therapy may be more affordable than you think. Under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, most plans must cover mental health at the same level as physical health.
A deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before your insurance starts covering services. Once you meet your deductible, insurance kicks in and covers a portion of your therapy costs. Check your plan to know your mental health deductible — it may be separate from your general deductible.
A co-pay is a fixed fee you pay per therapy session (e.g. $20 per visit). Co-insurance is a percentage of the session cost you pay after your deductible is met. Mental health parity law means these should match what you pay for regular medical visits.
It depends on your plan. HMO plans often require a referral from your primary care doctor before seeing a therapist. PPO plans usually allow you to book directly. Check your insurance card or member portal to confirm — or call the number on the back of your card.
In-network providers have agreed rates with your insurer and usually cost significantly less. You can check each provider’s profile on TheraConnect for insurance compatibility, or log in to your insurance portal and search their directory. Always verify before your first session to avoid surprise bills.
Many insurance plans now cover online therapy at the same rate as in-person sessions. Coverage expanded significantly after 2020 and varies by state and insurer. Check your benefits portal or call member services to confirm telehealth is included in your mental health benefits.
Many providers on TheraConnect offer sliding scale fees based on income, and some offer reduced rates for people without coverage. When you reach out to a provider, don’t be afraid to ask — most therapists genuinely want to find a way to work with you.
TheraConnect is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 immediately.
For mental health crises, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) — available 24/7, free and confidential.
Yes. Your privacy matters to us. All virtual therapy sessions on TheraConnect are HIPAA-compliant, meaning your information is handled with the highest standards of confidentiality. Each provider also maintains their own privacy practices, which you can review on their profile.
